Philip has over 20 years experience in the performance of environmental and contaminated site audits, investigations and remediation, both in the United Kingdom and Australia. Philip’s expertise is in the remediation and the performance of multi-site soil and groundwater investigation programs; the development and implementation of remedial action plans; Determination of Environmental Risks for Due Diligence and Pre-acquisition; the identification and quantification of potential environmental risks using the RBCA and BPRisc framework; regulatory compliance; health and safety management and the planning of petrochemical plant decommissioning, and demolition works.

This experience has included working within many different industrial sectors including petrochemical refineries, historical herbicide plants, petroleum retail, mining, waste and landfills, rail, building, steel, defence and historical and live gas works and rail facilities, plus many other light industrial and commercial organisations.

Mark is a Principal Environmental Engineer at ESG Environmental. He has over 25 years of extensive experience in environmental investigations and remediation programs undertaken for corporate and government clients for a diverse range of industries. His experience has included hydrogeological investigations, groundwater modeling, soil, soil vapour and groundwater contamination assessments and remedial works in most states in Australia. Mark has managed numerous projects under the statutory environmental audit system in Victoria for proposed residential and industrial developments and undertaken pre-acquisition and divestment investigations for due diligence and asset management in urban and country locations.

Mark’s project management experience on complex industrial sites is extensive for the key objectives of quantifying environmental risk and liability. Such sites have included cement manufacturing works, paper mills, ship building yards, service stations and chemical storage and manufacturing facilities. Other areas of expertise include development and implementation of complex site assessment, remediation and waste management programs, sampling, quality and analytical plans, construction environmental management plans, site management plans, remediation actions plans, and health and safety plans.

Mark holds a Masters of Engineering Science (Hydrogeology) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Engineering (Geological) from RMIT University, Melbourne. Mark is a Member and Chartered Professional Engineer on the National Professional Engineers Register, Engineers Australia (Environmental & Civil)

Damien has 20 years experience in the asbestos and hazardous materials field in both the UK and Australia, completing auditing and inspection works, full friable enclosure removal and remediation, as well as consulting and project managing projects in not only the built structure, but also asbestos in soils.

Damien specialises in project managing portfolio clients, having worked with local and national clients, and takes great pride in providing his clients with the "peace of mind" they are after. In order to achieve this, Damien's primary focus is the client.

Damien’s experience includes national and local government contracts, retail, Ministry of Defence, educational facilities, hospitals, energy and industrial facilities as well as having worked in Myanmar completing audits to Australian standards for one of the largest energy companies in the world.

Laura has 5 years of diversified experience as an environmental consultant in contaminated land assessment and management as well as work health and safety.

Throughout her professional career, Laura has gained a thorough understanding of all aspects of environmental assessment, including project planning and design, project management, fieldwork and data collection, and data assessment and interpretation. Laura’s clients have included federal and state government bodies including Department of Defence, the mining industry, petroleum industry, waste management facilities, industrial facilities, as well as providing support on numerous site audits.

Marzieh completed her PhD in Engineering at The University of Melbourne and has several years of research and teaching experience in environmental field in Australia and overseas.

Marzieh performs mould testing, air sampling, soil and groundwater sampling, environmental reporting, data validation and interpretation of results. She also has an outstanding experience in spatial environmental analyses using various software including QGIS and ArcGIS.

Marzieh is a Member of Engineers Australia.

Suzie undertakes field work including groundwater and soil sampling, microbiological sampling and provides office assistance thorough data validation, interpretation of results and environmental reporting.

Suzie holds a Master of Science (Biotechnology) from Swinburne University, Melbourne.

Senior Environmental Field Engineer

Alan has over 25 years’ experience in environmental instrumentation and monitoring and over 20 years’ experience in oceanographic physics and underwater electronics and remote operated vehicles.

Alan’s expertise is in the design and implementation of environmental sampling and monitoring, including soil, water, leachate and gas and the design and maintenance of sampling and monitoring equipment and remediation systems, via local and telemetry systems.

This experience has included working within many different industrial sectors across the world including oil field, mining and Antarctic research.

Since joining ESG Environmental Alan has enhanced and developed the sampling, monitoring and remediation systems capability of the organisation.
